This
Week (ABC):
It has aired on Sunday Mornings on the ABC
since 1981 and has been hosted by George
Stephanopoulos since September 2002. There
has been much speculation that the present
host's contract will not be renewed, since
the job was offered to Ted Koppel, former
anchor of Nightline. One of the key features
of This Week is the Roundtable, which includes
pundits such as George Will and Fareed Zakaria,
ABC News correspondents such as Sam Donaldson
and Cokie Roberts, and others discussing
the major issues of the week. Will, a panelist
ever since the program's start with David
Brinkley, also contributes short reports
to the broadcast.
Meet
the Press (NBC): is a weekly
American television news show produced by
NBC. It started as a radio show in 1945
as American Mercury Presents: Meet the Press,
originating from WRC-AM in Washington. It
was later adapted for television. Meet the
Press made its television debut on November
6, 1947. It is now the longest-running television
show in United States broadcasting history,
and the only continuously aired show from
the 1940s to still be on the air. MTP is
the highest rated Sunday morning show in
America. (Daytime TV ratings).
Face
the Nation (CBS): Each Sunday, CBS News Chief Washington
Correspondent Bob Schieffer interviews newsmakers
on the latest issues. The program broadcasts
from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has
spent more than 25 years covering government
and politics. He has anchored Face the Nation
since 1991. Guests include government leaders,
politicians, and international figures in
the news. CBS News correspondents engage
the guests in a lively roundtable discussion
focusing on current topics.
Late
Edition (CNN): CNN's live
newsmaker interview program hosted by veteran
reporter Wolf Blitzer. The program is "the
last word in Sunday talk" and a prime
source for front-page news on Monday morning.
"Late Edition" offers a superior
